Halloween Safety

Since 2019, the Boyne City Police Department has partnered with Boyne City Kiwanis, Boyne Mountain Resort - Avalanche Mountain Waterpark and the Boyne City Elementary School for our annual Halloween safety program.  Each year, our local Kiwanis Club generously purchases reflective trick or treat bags for each of our approximately 500 elementary students.  This past year, Officer Kyle Smith(along with Kiwanian Scott McKenzie and Kiwanian/Police Support Specialist Syrina Dawson) gave a presentation to the students and shared with them tips to stay safe on Halloween.  One of their tips was to be sure they were visible and each student was given a reflective trick or treat bag.  Patrick Patoka, director of Avalanche Bay Waterpark at Boyne Mountain reminded the students to be safe and to send in a photo of themselves using their bag to be entered into a drawing to receive one of 10 donated waterpark passes.  BCPD is grateful for the continued collaboration and support of these community partners to help keep our students safe on Halloween.
